Voilaah partnered with Manulife to explore how DBS could integrate multi-generational family insurance offerings into its mobile banking ecosystem. Through user-centric design strategy and UX prototyping, the project aimed to position insurance not as a product add-on, but as a relevant and timely service woven into everyday financial decisions. The result is a design concept that brings family protection into the digital fold—contextual, intuitive, and trust-driven.
IMPACT
FRAMING INSURANCE AROUND LIFE MOMENTS AND FINANCIAL INTENT
Our design strategy began with a simple question: when are users most open to considering family insurance? Instead of leading with product categories, we mapped user journeys around family milestones—like the birth of a child, planning for elderly care, or managing intergenerational wealth. These touchpoints guided how and where insurance options could surface within the DBS app experience in ways that felt helpful, not disruptive.
SHAPING A UI THAT EDUCATES, ASSURES, AND ENGAGES
The proposed experience includes contextual prompts, guided flows, and personalised micro-journeys that make the process of understanding and purchasing family insurance less intimidating. Using simplified visual language, progressive disclosure, and familiar mobile UI patterns, we created pathways that are not only accessible but build confidence with each tap.
FROM BANK INTERFACE TO RELATIONSHIP BUILDER
By placing insurance alongside budgeting tools, savings insights, and family account features, the DBS app becomes more than a transactional tool—it becomes a relationship platform. Our concept encourages meaningful engagement between generations, allowing users to co-explore protection options and even initiate coverage discussions within the app.
A PARTNERSHIP-DRIVEN VISION FOR EMBEDDED INSURANCE
This project reflects a forward-looking collaboration between Manulife and Voilaah to help DBS envision new service models. The proposal positions insurance not just as a financial product but as part of a holistic, everyday banking experience—supported by intuitive UX and delivered where trust already exists.
